ABOUT ME
My name is Emma Hitchcock. I'm a senior Biomedical Engineering Student currently pursuing a Bachelor's of Science through Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. I'm working to build up experiences in biomedical and medical research to solidify my future career plans. Currently I am looking at continuing my education after graduation in hopes of an Ph.D. Between graduation and applying to graduate schools I am potentially looking to find a post-baccalaureate research program.
I am particularly interested in studying Prion diseases, Alzheimer's, extremely drug resistant bacteria, biomedical optics, and breast cancer though I have a tendency to find a large variety of projects incredibly interesting and am more than willing to try to learn about something new! I love learning new things and am extremely passionate about the interactions of humans, chemicals, diseases, and machinery.
Outside of engineering I have a particular passion for costume design, theater, singing, and drawing. I pattern and sew costumes, both historical and fantastical in my spare time and spent all four years of high school running the theater's costume department. I have been performing in onstage productions both plays and musicals since 2015 and love public speaking and acting. I am also a published photographer and love to write. In terms of drawing, I currently favor digital art and do commission work on the side, both logo design and concept art. I have a particular love for character design that likely stems from my time working in costuming.
